BRK Brocock

History

BRK Brocock has been a significant player in the UK airgun market for nearly half a century.

Brocock was founded in the 1980’s, in the old gun quarter of Birmingham. Brocock was initially known for its Tandem Air Cartridge (TAC). This resembled a .38 cartridge case but was actually a mini precharged pneumatic chamber that fired an airgun pellet. The TAC was used as the basis for many airgun pistols, such as the Orion 6. It was also later used in rifles, like the Safari.

Following the UK government’s removal of the need to licence CO2-powered airguns in 1997, Brocock was also instrumental in importing a vast range of CO2 air pistols into the UK. These included models such as the Walther CP88 and Beretta 92F. Later in the company’s history, Brocock ventured into the manufacture of PCP airguns, like the Atomic pistol and Contour rifle.

New Ownership

In 2013, Brocock was acquired from its original owners by the Diana Group, who also own the long-established and highly revered Daystate brand. Under co-ownership, Brocock airguns benefitted from much of the pioneering technology of its sister company. The launch of the Compatto heralded a new era from Brocock, with further new models – especially those in the sidelever XR Series – elevating the brand to a much higher level. Today, the company manufactures a range of highly advanced precharged pneumatic air rifles at its purpose-built Staffordshire UK base. Modern BRK rifles feature factory-fitted Huma-Air regulators as standard and incorporate advanced CNC machining.

New Name – BRK

In 2022, Brocock introduced ‘BRK’ as a new manufacturing name for its air rifles. This was to better reflect the company’s emergence as a leading manufacturer of prestigious precharged pneumatic air rifles. The first rifle launched under the BRK moniker was the Ghost. This model was an instant global success, even breaking world records in some competitions! Unsurprisingly, it has since been the basis for many Special Edition variations.

A long way from its original roots, BRK Brocock is now considered one of the best airgun brands in the world.
