Walther Arms

Walther's Arms Manufacturer history of air weapons.

The walther history began in the 1950s with the LG51, but it was the introduction of the recoil-absorbing LGR in 1972 that revolutionized the sport by creating the first truly recoil-free match air rifle. Previous models like the LG53, LG55, and LGV from the 1950s and 60s had struggled with piston bounce, which the LGR overcame with a new pneumatic system that stored compressed air, making it the most accurate and successful air rifle of its time. This success was followed by other match rifles, and today Walther is a leading manufacturer of air rifles for sport and recreation, a success story that began in the 1950s and 1960s.
