Aeron

Aeron – Company Profile

Aeron (officially AERON CZ s.r.o.) is a Czech air-gun manufacturer based in Brno, Czech Republic. Originally founded in 1968 under the auspices of “Svazarm” (a Czechoslovakian paramilitary and civilian organisation), Aeron’s early work included designing and servicing small aircraft. Blue Book of Gun Values Over the years, the company evolved, shifting its focus to precision sporting arms — particularly competition air pistols and rifles.

Products and Specialisation

  • Aeron produces high-precision air pistols and pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) air rifles, tailored especially for target shooting, field target (FT), and match competition. Aeron+1

  • One of its notable product lines is in collaboration with FX Airguns, such as the Aeron/FX Dreamline STX. This model, for example, is built for field-target use and comes with a regulated action and FX’s “Smooth Twist X” barrel technology.

  • They also manufacture competition air pistols like the Aeron Brno ‘Chameleon’, a CO₂-powered single-shot target pistol.

Reputation and Strengths

  • Aeron is well-regarded within the competition shooting community for its precision engineering and modular designs. Their rifles feature adjustable stocks, match-style triggers, and high-quality barrels, making them popular among serious target shooters.

  • Its partnership with FX Airguns helps combine Czech craftsmanship with Swedish innovation, especially in barrel design and modular PCP systems.

  • The company’s long history (since 1968) gives it a strong foundation in manufacturing heritage, yet it continues to innovate in the modern competitive airgun space.

Market and Distribution

  • Aeron airguns are imported and distributed internationally. In the U.S., for instance, their products have been distributed by FX Airguns USA.

  • In the UK and Europe, specialist airgun retailers (especially competition-focused ones) often stock their rifles and pistols.

User Focus

  • Competition Shooters: Particularly those engaged in field-target (FT), high-power match (HFT), and precision pistol events.

  • Serious Hobbyists: Shooters who value fine adjustability, modularity, and high-quality match components.

  • Modular Setup Enthusiasts: Thanks to their modular designs, many of their rifles can be tailored (e.g., changing barrels, adjusting stock, power levels).
