Reliable and accurate ammunition for more than 100 years

The Lapua cartridge factory was founded in 1923 in Lapua, Finland, to support the defense of the newly independent nation. Lapua cartridges achieved international fame at the 1930 World Championship Games in Antwerp, when Finnish competitors Einari Oksa and Kullervo Leskinen shot three gold medals between them. Since then, the Lapua brand has developed into a globally known premium ammunition brand that stands for premium quality and consistency.
In 1998, the Nammo group was founded, and in the early 2000s, Nammo acquired the factory in Schönebeck, Germany, where Lapua rimfire cartridges are produced today. All Lapua centerfire components and cartridges are produced at the factory site located in Lapua, Finland. Today, hundreds of Nammo employees work with the Lapua brand at various Nammo locations.
The world famous quality of Lapua bullets, brass and cartridges comes from decades of experience, infallible raw materials and a well-managed manufacturing process. Despite the automation in production and quality assurance, our staff personally inspects every ammunition lot and, if necessary, even each individual cartridge. The finishing touch of the carefully controlled manufacturing process is the primer and powder, perfectly compatible with the case and the bullet. We work together with the leading gun powder and primer manufacturers to carefully choose the powder and a dependable primer that best fits each cartridge type. Reliability and accuracy of the ammunition we produce is continuously proven in test shootings.
The most important thing is, however, listening to the people who use our ammunition. Every inquiry is taken seriously and analyzed thoroughly.
